Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credits
NMA’s Annual Convention and Scientific Assembly offer the Nation’s foremost program on medical science and African American health. Attendees can earn as many as 45 continuing medical education units. NMA membership provides special discounts on registration and other NMA-sponsored continuing medical education programs.

NMA’s National Colloquium is the premier leadership forum for medical professionals designed to influence the national health agenda. The Colloquium considers issues that impact African-African Americans physicians and patients, and other people of color, and the medically underserved. Additionally, it provides a forum whereby NMA physicians can gain practical experience in media training and advocacy, two major program components.

Regional Annual Scientific Meetings provide physicians and allied health professionals with timely information on widespread medical problems impacting African Americans and people of African descent.

NMA’s House of Delegates in the legislative body that establishes association policy on national health issues, clinical practices, medical education, special interest concerns and operations. Through representation by state delegates, regular members have a choice in shaping national policies that affect your practice and the welfare of yours patients.

MEDLINE
The United States National Library of Medicine offers PubMed and Internet Grateful Med, two free systems to search MEDLINE. They both:

• Provide an easy way to search the 11 million references and abstracts in the MEDLINE database;


• Use PubMed’s retrieval engine to link to over 700 journals for full text of articles (some publishers may require a subscription) and provide pre –computed sets of relevant MEDLINE articles;


• Offer National Library of Medicine’s Medical Subject Headings for searching; and


• Use Loansome Doc for document delivery services (local charges may apply).
